About your Nails and Refund Policy

ABOUT YOUR NAILS

Colors:

Every custom set will be photographed and sent to you for approval.  I do my best to match colors you may have requested but please be aware that different lighting and pictures may not always be completely accurate to looking at the in person and may vary slightly.

Imperfections:

Every set of Painted Pinky nails are hand crafted and I do my best to minimize and catch imperfections but there is always a chance you may see small air bubbles, glitter, etc.

Durability:

While luxury press-on's are extremely durable, just like any other nail, they won't last forever.  They can break, crack, chip, lift or other potential damages.  While most sets can easily last several weeks with care, there is no guarantee as everyone is different and many factors can affect the life of your nails. Such as: improper prep or application, not enough/too much glue, natural oils, using them as tools, picking at them, submerging them in water constantly, everyday tasks, what you do for a living, etc.  If cared for and removed gently they can possibly even be used more than once, I cannot guarantee this but it has been done. Most people like to do a new set after 2-3 weeks anyway and each set should last at least that long if not longer.

Shapes & Sizes:

There are a lot of different nail tips out there and if you have used press on's before the sizes may not be the same as the tips I use. It is imperative that you purchase a sizing kit to get your custom measurements done. I will send a kit with your requested shape and length and some alternatives if you are between a shape or size to see what works best for you.  Please contact me if help is needed with sizing as the sizes you send me are what I will make and are your final responsibility. If you decide you want to change your shape down the road you may need another sizing kit to ensure the new shape tips fit the same. I will send a free sizing kit with a custom set when ordered if you would like to try a different shape.

How long until I get my nails:

I take a lot of care and pride into creating every set of nails.  Each set can take 1-3 hours to hand paint, design, add special touches, etc.  I am very OCD so I try to ensure every set I create gets the same attention to detail so you have nails you can be proud to wear. I will generally fill requests in the order they are received, but if you have a special occasion and need them by a certain date please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate and get them to you in time.  (expedited shipping rates apply if needed)

Application kit:

Every set of nails come with a nail file/buffer, alcohol pad for prep, cuticle pusher, your nails (obviously), a tube of standard glue (unless you upgrade to semi-solid glue, which I highly recommend), Three nail polish remover wipes for clean up of any excess glue and written instructions.

Applying your Nails:

Nail prep before applying your new set is key to good adhesion and long lasting nails. Please take a few moments to properly prepare your natural nails before applying your tips.

1. Push back your cuticles.  This is so important to ensure the tip is being glued to the nail surface only and not skin, which will make the nail lift. If needed soak your hands in warm soapy water to soften the cuticles, this will make them easier to push back. A cuticle pusher is included with your nails if you don't have one.(save that for removal as well) Gently trim off any excess skin.

2. Using the included nail fil gently file each nail lightly to remove any natural oils or remaining skin around the cuticle.

3. When all fingers are complete, wash your hands and wipe each nail with the included alcohol wipe to remove any remaining dust or oils.  Try not to touch your nails after this and transfer oil back onto the surface.

4. Have your nail set out and the included nail polish remover wipes handy.  Apply a small bead of glue(little smaller than the size of a grain of rice) to your natural nail and apply the correct tip for that finger lightly.  BEFORE you press down, line up the nail where you want it, make sure its not crooked and slide all the way down snug to your cuticle. When you are happy with the placement, press and hold tight for 15-20 seconds. Try to press away from the cuticle area as excess glue may come out and get all over your fingers and the new nail - and glue you to it.  Repeat this step for all 5 nails on one hand.

5. Once all 5 nails are on use one of the included nail polish remover wipes to clean away any excess glue around your cuticles.  I say don't do it for each nail as you can end up with a sticky mess, just wait until you have one hand done, it'll be easier and cleaner. Once done use the 3rd remover wipe to give them all one more cleaning around the cuticles. Also if any excess glue comes out under your new tips, just LEAVE and let it dry.  It's much easier to pop out any dried glue later than to deal with runny sticky glue under the nail...trust me!

6. Finally once you have all your nails on, be gentle and try to keep your hands out of water for at least an hour while the glue fully cures.

7. Your tips may feel "snug" at first as they will hug your natural nail, this feeling subsides as the tip relaxes into position after 15-20 minutes.

If these steps are followed properly your new nails will last for several weeks.  The semi-solid glue holds VERY tight, we do not recommend trying to change your nails every week as the glue likely won't be ready to give up yet! After 2-3 weeks with normal wear and tear the glue will eventually start to release making them easier to remove for a new set.

Removing your Nails:

Depending on how long your nails have been on will help determine how easy they are to remove.  Nails that have been on for several weeks will be easier to remove.  They can be removed in several different ways:

1. If the glue is starting to fail you can often just gently pry them off.

2. Soaking your hands in warm soapy water for approx 5-10 minutes will help soften your natural nail and help release the glue so you can gently pry them up.  Use cuticle oil or nail glue remover as you work them up to help further release the glue in any stubborn areas.

3. If you aren't trying to save the tips for another possible use then you can soak them in either nail polish remover or acetone. While this will help release the glue it also will likely ruin the polish/designs, especially with acetone.  After soaking you should be able to use the cuticle pusher to gently pry them up.  (NOTE: I cannot guarantee nails can be used more than once, they are made/sold with the intention of one-time use, but in certain instances when removed carefully and glue residue removed you might be able to use them again)

Once you remove the nails, gently file/buff to remove any remaining glue residue.  Acetone can also be used.  Then do your prep to prepare your nails for a new set!

*If you purchase the larger glue set from Amazon I recommend it comes with remover to help loosen the glue. Or get a bottle of 100% acetone.

REFUND POLICY:

All nails are custom made and are not exchangeable.  As mentioned above you will get photos of your set(s) prior to shipping for approval, once approved and shipped they will not be refunded or exchanged.

Should you have an issue with your nails in the first 5 days after putting them on, such as chipping or a tip breaking I will make you a new tip.  **Save the card your nails arrive on as the color numbers will be noted on the back so I can recreate a nail if needed with same materials**  After this period of wear no replacements will be made as general wear and tear can cause damage to the polish/tips.

Refunds will not be issued if when you receive your nails you decide you no longer want/like them, this is why you approve them prior to shipping.  I also will not offer a refund if you damage your nails, say you are doing something that scratches the top layers of polish, this is considered normal wear and tear.  You are encouraged to wear gloves if doing any chores you feel may damage your nails.

The only instance I will offer a refund or make a new set as a replacement would be if you get a faulty set/nail.  You must provide photo evidence of the faulty issue and return the nail/set to me.  If this should happen you have your choice of a full refund or a full replacement set.

I strive to make every customer happy with their sets - but nails are something that can take a beating while wearing, they are on your hands after all that get used all day long.  I am not responsible for damage to your nails, using them as tools which may chip your polish or the tip itself.  Wear them with care and you will get weeks of use out of them.  I hope you love your new Painted Pinky Nails!
